You can protest, it costs £250 and you get your money back if you're proven correct. So, you have to be very sure that the bike is illegal, and that's why it doesn't occur very often, I guess because without conctrete proof, you ain't going to stump up the cash

That's why they do it, they don't beleive that someone can actually ride faster than them on a legal bike

I can gaurantee one, if you can find it!Ballsout Racing wrote:PS, I know for sure that there have been some 440cc race bikes out there though :smt013
But how can you get away with it, anyway?
When I had mine bored out the difference was massive! I would have thought it would stick out like a sore thumb especially driving out of the corners?

Re: 440 big bore kit
Well, mostly they're done by people who can't believe that the front runners are actually faster riders than them and therefore must be cheating, then find that they still can't beat themJamz wrote: But how can you get away with it, anyway?

On a race engine they don't give that much extra top end bhp, maybe 2 bhp, but can give as much as 10 bhp midrange along with the added torque. As you say it shows coming out of the corners, that speed is then carried down the srtaights. But, a good rider will just have to work the legal engine harder to get out of the corner better, ie, use the power at higher revs. In other words the 440 bikes are 'easier' to ride fast!

Re: 440 big bore kit
So they're basically only ridden by crap riders, otherwise they'd be off into the distance every race and everyone would know?
