Currently dry building/refreshing my motor, setup is
Standard crank
1208rods weight matched
+1mm je pistons
Head skimmed 0.3
Base gasket fitted
Standard M ECU on stock rev limit
Squish is coming up at 0.67-0.72
Valve to piston is all very safe too.
Is this sounding the norm for squish clearance for similar setups of yours?
Had the engine built before with the same setup but with 1173 rods that had been in the motor for a few seasons.
First with stock pistons and skimmed barrels, then with the current +1mm and stock barrels
Ended up having the pistons kissing the head on both occasions, anyone came across this due to rod stretch as the squish clearance was the same as I'm measuring it now?
Cheers

Re: Squish/engine clearance setup
I run closer to .8mm and have the faintest of witness marks on one chamber in the squish area. I never get carbon buildup in these areas in any of the combustion chambers, which I take as a sign thats it right or damn close to it!
