There seems to be more and more members appearing that are racing the ZXR400 so i've created a special section just for you to show off results, discuss meets etc etc.

tuning

Post by Rick.O »

hi,
Ive just tuned my zxr as per kit manual on other linc (minus advanser cos i cant find one) and was after a bit of info,
What affect do the indents on top of the barrels do ? (in line with the valve indents in the piston)
When we stripped the old race engine it only had indents in the exhaust side and my other engine had none (both tuned by different tuners)
Cheers

Dont really know, we flowed my head a bit jus making it smoother, we did this when we did porting to the head.

The Non existing advancer can be overcome by "slotting" the pick up, and moving it forward. Ie elongating the holes and moving the whole thing forward then tightening the bolts up. Costs nothin takes 30mins.

hello mate
i was thinking of doing the same, how does it run with one of the piston rings removed? does it rev noticeably faster? how much oil does it go thru now? and does it smoke big time on the overun?
cheers!

mine smokes a bit on over run but its only realy noticable on the dyno, and it does burn a little more oil nothing to worry about.
