Not sure if you should redexex in both carbs and fuel, id say its best do one or the other, but not both. either way, its simpler to just pour it in the tank than faff around with getting the lot apart.
It could be that you just havent riden for a long distance, starting up a bike takes a hell of alot of power from a battery and takes about 10 minutes riding to put back in what you took out starting. If your not riding it much and just starting it now and then the battery could simply be drained and needs taking out for a good run to recharge it properly.
I thats not the case then it might be worth getting the battery drop tested and see if you need a new one.
Yeah I think it needs a new battery. Just before I put the charger on I tried to start the bike again and you could see the battery acid seeping out of the top of the battery and you could hear it making a ticking sound so I charged it anyway and after charging it was making the same sound for a couple of minutes. How much is a good budget bike battery. Could you also recommend some good plugs and what gap should the plugs be and how much are they?

As you can tell i know nothing about bike engines.
Do you think the bike will need a re-tune since i've cut the can in half
Also i've cleaned the air filter with lots of hot water and a load of fairy liquid. I did dry it out before i put it back in
Any help and advice would be very much appreciated
Yeah there is a good bike specialists in exeter about 10 mile away from me just need £75 for the 1st hour.
Just had a look at the under tray where the battery is and it looks like the battery has been leaking for a long time
I will get it fixed at some point.
