started to prep the hugger ............what was very thick paint on the hugger,was very poorly painted on....wasn't even 'keyed in'.....took 3mins with a ''hammer'' to get old paint off......... ....why dont people do the simple things??...........just need to finally decide wot direction i'm going to go in for colour...mmmmm

not done anything for a while......but finally got myself a wicked single seat for the old girl...turns out the guy i purchase my paint from has a couple of zxr400's he uses for track days...so got the seat for a good price....comes with proper solid brackets and alloy undertray....looking to relocate all the wiring underneath the seat unit.......hoping to make it look tidier from bottom of tank to rear......cant decide on rear light to use tho'......been looking at the suz sv650 led lights,think will suit the shape of the seat nicely....i'll get some pics up as soon as i get chance....

well as promised here's some pics of the seat unit,luv the modern look it gives...just needs a nice new coat of paint(undecided on colour still).....unable to get a distant pic...not much room in my little w/shop......seat is not bolted up and just sat in place....let me know your thoght's guys.....

Hi Dave,
I like the single seat, the only thing I do not like about it is the view for from the rear as it is now. Will you keep the alloy as bare as it is now? In my opinion it would look much better when painted.

made up some new side panels to hide all the elctrical gubbins out of thin ally plate and then covered with some 3m di-noc carbon wrap....pretty happy with 1st attempt,not quite the finished article yet,but gives me something to play with..let me know your thoughts guys....also gonna get rid of the the raised mounting points on the base of the tank for the original side panels and paint the usually hidden section of the tank black or cover with same carbon wrap,but will probably go for painting........sorry the pics are a bit dark...

well it was nice to finally get back in the garage after 4 months of 12 hour shifts and the silly season in for good measure..but thought i would give a little update on my zx.........not a lot to show,but after much deliberation i've decided to go with led rear light and indicators...purchased from OORacing are these rear light/brake light and indicator all in one's and also nice and small...got them mounted on a tail tidy with the large bracket mounted inside the seat unit to keep it as clean looking as possible...put some pics up with a quick mock up to see how things will look...a bit of fettling for the undertray to get a tighter fit and i think i'll leave it that ...just painting required............oh,and a small led number plate light on its way....let me know your thoughts guys..good and bad..

i love those little indicator tail light brake lights will confuse the hell out of car drivers lol i got my led light built into my single seat makes the zxr so much neater and more modern ive been asked afrw times if its a 600 as mine dont look like a 400 much now lol

a little more done....refurbed the calipers...change of colour to red...might not be everybody's cup of tea,but i like to be different..some people dont like change...i upset a few on the KR1 forum when i powder coated the kr frame green!!!!.... .......swing arm/dog bones/and suspension knuckle,along with torsion bar in nice new gloss black powder coat...also recently had the fairing bracket and cluster bracket powder coated as well..........

Well guys,I've actually done a bit of work on the old girl..........apologies for not been on here at all in the last 2 yrs!!......other projects pushed her to the bottom of a big list.....so,she's just been sat there,but she's now got a decent second hand set of stainless headers on and new carbon can(bought 18 months ago!!).....rad/oil cooler re-fitted,set of new rubber boots,wheels painted in Suzuki Venus gold(same as my mitsi.. ),not happy with colour of calipers so they may get re-done,hopefully will get 'back on it' with some enthusiasm.....will post a pic soon...

wow.....cant believe its been 2 yrs since I've been here......hello again peeps......you'll be glad to know I've still got the baby ninja and managed to get back working on the old girl over the last couple of weeks,with some valuable info from Charles(another member..) also a couple of recommended mods along the way,hoping to have her ready for MOT in the not too distant future and ready fro spring/summer...pretty scary thought at my age... ...haven't been any bike for nearly 5yrs... .....i'll get some updated pics up shortly for you scrutinize...lol....
