Wet/oily spark plugs?
Just bought a zxr 400 L6 from a mate and it runs sweet as a nut, but there is a mysterious oil leak on front if the engine which seems to wet the while front.
We took tank of to get to the plugs, and when pulling thsm out to check them they were all wet with im guessing oil.
that meant to happen? Or if not can someine offer a solution? Bike not on road yet but about to finish my test

Check the seals between the rocker cover and the spark plug wells. There's a drain hole for each spark plug well that's on the front of the engine below the headers

Re: Wet/oily spark plugs?
As per what bendog said, there are 2 seals per spark plug tube, one between the rocker cover and the removable spark plug tube, and an o ring around the spark plug tube where it seals to the head.
You might want to err on the side of caution and replace the rocker cover gasket at the same time.

cradley kawasaki (http://www.kawasakioriginalparts.com/ro ... country=gb)
you need:
11009-1733 if oil is getting between the rocker cover and spark plug tunnel
92055-1403 if oil is getting between the spark plug tunnel and the cylinder head
11009-1732 if oil is leaking around the rocker cover

Re: Wet/oily spark plugs?
If your removing the rocker cover for any job , order a new gasket ( unless it's been changed recently ) as it has now been revised and gives a better seal.
Nothing worse than having an H and not being able to scratch it !

Re: Wet/oily spark plugs?
For the minimal cost, and lifetime of the seals, it's a bit of a no brainer unless your proper skint at the time
