Bike DIED :( Walk of Shame

Well its sunny out there and was time for a ride, Just off out with my mates and all is sweet !

Am riding down the road and the bike starts to Rev a little funny and a bit lumpy.
After about 2 or 3 seconds of running like that it just cut all power and I had to pull over.

After quite some time of trying to get it started it finally went, So jumped on and went to go home as didnt trust it not to do it again!
So anyway a little closer to home it cut out again, Same symptoms and cant get it started again..

So i've just had a rather long walk of shame pushing my bike along the seafront.
About 2 miles in all, if not further.

Any ideas on where to start looking ? Electrical, Mechanical, or Fueling ?

do you have fuel and plenty of it?

Yup there is fuel in the tank, Even tried switching it onto reserve as well,


Gonna start stripping it down in a bit and check if theres a spark

yeah first check fuel and that its getting to the carbs, then check sparks from each plug.go from there.

Looks like it might have been a fuel issue,

Not sure why it wasnt running while on reserver but have filled the tank up (£14 worth of optimax)

Feel like a right Burk now

tank full of toad ? filter in the tank blocked so the reserve wont let fuel out ? fuel tap not workin properly ?

Well the tap was replaced not that long ago as i had a leak on it,

Is there a filter inside the tank also ? I know there is one from the pipes from the tap under the seat, But thats not that old and was replaced not long ago

should be a tiny gaused filter on the top of the pipe in the tank from the tap. will get a pic tomorrow if i remember

Ah right yeah i remember that,

I cleaned it when i replaced the tap,

I think the main thing was, I though it had broken down because i Had the sump off it the other day and thought that maybe i had done it wrong somehow and casued some damage to the engine.

I didnt think about fuel untill i got home, so much as being the problem as i could hear some sloshing around in the tank.
Im a bit of a newbie to bikes so have learnt my lesson
