Hi everyone

Post by Donny »

Hi, I'm known as Donny and i'm from Northampton. I've always loved bikes and when I was 16 I got a Yamaha Aerox 50 and had the time of my life! Since then I've owned 4 cars including a Pug 106, a Fiesta, a Corsa SRi, and my current Mondeo, which I needed for my window cleaning business. I've now packed in my WC'ing business and I'm ready to start biking again! :smt003

I'm 22 years old and I think a 400 will suit me best at the moment. I've looked at various 400s and was interested in the RVF400 for a while, but I think I've now fell in love with the ZXR as I think it looks smarter and slightly more mature despite the classic bright green colour! And of course, it's a sexy beast :smt007 lol

I've had a bit of experience riding bikes in the past. When I first jumped on my mates little TS50 when I was 15 I instantly became comfortable riding it, and I've rode race tuned 125's a couple times since then.

I'm yet to take my test, but will do once i've saved a bit of money. I was planning to take the restricted test, but thought I may aswell go for full access. That sounds best.

I hope to get to know you all and hopefully be a proud zixxer owner in the near future!

Sorry i've went on a bit...

Welcome to the forums :smt006

At the age of 22 you gotta go for the full access licence!! It'll only annoy you if you don't especially if you've ridden race tuned bikes before.

Good luck when you do your test!!!

Thanks Caz. I see you have a Gixxer, I'm sure I'll be getting one after I get my Zixxer, and will probably not want to let go so have both :smt003

I'm in Moulton. Good to see another "Northamptonian" here :smt006

I done my CBT back when I was 16 with the guys at Riverside. It was M&P back then before it became Riverside Motorcycles, could be the same guys? They were a nice bunch of people.

Where in N'pton are you then Rene? Oh and I gotta say, your 750 is a beauty! What's the insurance like on that for you?!

Im west hunsbury (just down the road from the big tesco)

Its the same guys doing the lessons, not sure what the prices are now but they used to be cheap as well as good trainers, will be worth giving them a ring! Also try and get your test done as soon as possible as there tightening up all the bike licence laws soon to make it harder for new riders, so get it done soon!

Insurance is quite cheap! im 19 got a CRM250 and a Maico250 on the policy as well and paying 480 a year (still far to much!). When you get your bike give us a bell there some quite nice roads around are way if you look hard enouth!
