Re: dodgy rev needle
id also check your regulator while your at it. Best way is just stick a multi metter over the positive and negitve on the battary. If you get more than 16v odd then you need to change your regulator

Re: dodgy rev needle
sounds like your battery is shorting, you will need to replace it. just check the earth from the battery is not corroded, take it off and clean it up with some emery cloth.

Re: dodgy rev needle
try running some jump leads off a car to your battery and try starting it.

Re: dodgy rev needle
depends, if the battery has died of death due to old age it should fire up ok, if the battery is breaking down and shorting it may cause same symptoms.

Re: dodgy rev needle
sorted, starts fine, ther was fluid around the posative terminal, and it stunk of hydrogen gas every time i tried to start, so it needs a new battery, and my hands sting lol.

Re: dodgy rev needle
check the voltage output of ur regulator with a multimeter,
its in the manual how to do it, as the seal battery of the zxr should never leak unless its blown its top.
cheers
