All plastics - Not one panel was worth keeping, without major repair work
Wiring loom - Shot to pieces, with more bodged repairs than I have ever seen in my life
Exhaust system - Standard headers completely rusted through with at least four badly welded repair patches. The end can was a Remus Race, off a Gixer I believe that had the standard ZXR flange badly welded to it
Hoover pipes - More holes than swiss cheese
Undertray plastics - No idea what had happened here but I can only guess that they had been on fire at some time or other!!
Rearsets - Or lack of them. The brake side was missing and the gear shift side had a rear hanger and peg fitted!
Front tyre - Needs removing from the rim and binning
All Chassis and wheel bearings - Not bad really considering the rest of the bike but they need replacing
Missing bits
No front discs, master cylinder or calipers - No probs cause I would have replaced them anyway
No rear master cylinder - Need one, but not for a while!
Rearsets
Good bits
Not many, but the frame is straight and the swing arm is reasonable. The rear shock is not bad, but I will either have it re-built or replace it with a standard ZX6 one. The forks are straight and all adjustments work, although the seals are gone. These will be fully rebuilt with K-Tech springs, and I might even have the stantions Titanium Nitride coated. The fork bottoms have both got mudguard mounting bolts sheared and will need to be either extracted or drilled and tapped to the next size.
I havent heard the engine run, but it turns over freely and I have had the rocker cover off, the cam profiles look to be good, but I will have to measure them all up when the engine is stripped. My plan is to fully re-build it. But that will have to wait till the chassis is complete. The carbs are good from the outside, not sure if I will replace them with flatslides. I will see what I can get them for in Japan.
The next job is to have the frame, swingarm, wheels, top yoke, triple clamp, clip-ons, rear subframe, fork bottoms, tie bars and various brackets etc blasted and powder coated. Going to do all of it in Satin Black, with things like the rear shock mounting pivot and torque arm, polished alloy as it came out of the show room. Anyway pictures below, with more to follow as I start to build.
I guess with xmas well on its way and 2 Star Wars mad kids most of this will probably get done in the new year.
