Ive asked for the book and DVD for christmas, gad to hear the book is a good read! Last book i read front to back was 'Dirty Americans' by Ben Mezrich. Quite a good book, and before that 'Bringing down the House' by the same author.

Was a bit dissapointed by LWD yes. I think because of the dangers of travelling in certain parts the support crew stayed close, having said that there pretty dangerous parts in LWR. LWR was alot more eventful too.

I was really disappointed in Long way down. They didnt really seem to do anything! one of the things i liked most about LWR was them experiencing different cultures, and you jsut didnt really get to see that in LWD. Just got to see alot of falling off! I will read the book at some point, and i hope that's better than the DVD.

If you've got time to pinch a loaf then you've got time to read!
Dean Koontz books are always good - especially all of the ones from the last few years. I've recently got into Andy McNabb books as well - ironically AFTER I've done all the surveillance malarkey...
I think the last really great book I've read that you buggers might be interested in is "My Story" - the biography of Alex Zanardi, from starting racing karts through to losing both his legs after being t-boned at 220mph in an Indy Car... then through to winning his first WTC race a few years later! brilliant book and very funny in places!
I also just finished one of Senna's biographies that was very interesting, but more technical than Zanardi's. I wonder if Mansell ever did one...?
Or a great book about the life of a bouncer in some of Coventry's roughest clubs - "Watch My Back" by Geoff Thompson. It goes from hilarious to horrifying tales that are far scarier than any horror story.

Just finished jupiters travels by ted simon THAT is a hardcore bike ride four years around the world in the seventies on his own, on a leaky triumph,it was one of the inspirations for lwr, lwd,no support crew, just a man on a mission ,no dvd, no t shirt, not on tv, but a great book
