std exhaust modifying

Post by masterofinsanity »

surprised this hasn't cropped up more often but has anyone actually cut the flange of their std downpipes and fitted a slip on can? haven't checked the diameter of the pipe so maybe it can't be done without a sleeve?

The stainless steel link pipe bit of the standard exhaust is to uneven to slip a can onto

It is not made from tubing it's two bits of pressed stainless wielded together and there is a big seam

I supose you could get a can wielded on to it but then it would be stuck there and not so easy to remove for MOT

lol I swear I've not seen that swingarm (though my memory is toad) - it has the extra bit like the old WSB bikes. I love the look of those and have been trying to find one. Did it come with the H models then? I thought they just had a squarer looking version of the L's.

EDIT: a simple google answered my question. Well bugger me, I never noticed that bit on the H's before. I always thought they were just a square bar...
