Re: bike size
400s are tiny, much much lower than any of the 600s.
Havn't riden a 600, but sat on quite a few. 600 felt wider and more aggressive, made my bike feel even smaller

Re: bike size
I dont think they are that small, especially compared to modern machinery, i think they are about the same sizer or bigger in fact.
Never had it myself but i have heard of people mistaking the 400 for a 750.

Re: bike size
I get asked if mine is a 600, think the stickers make it look more like one on mine lol. Have to tell them at noise testing its only a 400 and not a 600

Re: bike size
Don't know if it was just the placebo effect, but whenever i've sat on the 600s they've felt more substantial. Must be the bigger tank making me think that.

Re: bike size
guess it depends on the 600 really - the 2004/05 ones seem to be the lightest; I think that the dry weight of my K4 gixxer (161kg springs to mind) is pretty much the same as the ZXR (note, i havent checked the exact weights)
The tanks are near enough the same capacity on the ZXR and the 600s
The 97 ZX6 I rode did feel a considerably bigger bike than the ZXR tho
in short - I think its psychological, you expect the 600s to be bigger and heavier.
