because although they may look ok, they might actually not be. Have you tried spraying carb cleaner round the inlets? If the engine revs stall i believe thats an indication that the inlets are leaking air in.
Along with that its common for ZXR's revs to hang, and a number of people on here have changed/sealed the inlets and it has fixed the problem.

Just looked in the manual it says EU L2 ..1 & 1/2 turns out.
I have them set at 1 & 3/4 turns out.
Can anybody cofirm that EU is UK models?
Maybe this is my problem.

they may be Rob, im not sure.
when i just set the idle screws to where they want to be.. and that allways ends up being around the 3 turns out.

If manual says 1 & 3/4 then that should be where they are set. You can use a 'colour tune' kit to get it perfect tho
Jake, im guessing you do it by listening to the revs as you adjust?

yeh, i go for about 2 out and keep going bit by bit untill the revs settle fast after revin it.
i then wack the idle up to about 3k!
havent started my bike since october, im off to the shed in a mo to put some oil and water in and hopefully fire it up..

Hi,
It sounds very much to me that the vaccum pipes haven't either been put back on fully or properly? I've done that so so many times, you can blip the throttle and have the bike running, soon as you let go, the bike dies. Just check them over and make sure they're not perished or split and of course are fully on the "nipples"

Found the problem for this... one of the pilot air screws had a slight bend near the tip.
