Speedo Cable

Post by ZXR400H »

Hi there,

My speedo cable snapped friday night so I ordered one off ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KAWASAKI-ZXR400-Z ... C240%3A131

It arrived yesterday but seems to be six inches too long and I cant seem to hide the extra anywhere and I'm concerned it may snag on rad/oil cooler while riding! My question is are all zxr speedo cables the same, btw my bike is a H model.

Thanks

Ricky

pretty sure they are the same, there should be some excess to account for the movement of the forks, but not enough to touch the radiator!

Just checked the microfiches and yes they have the same part number for the L and H model so should be no reason why you cant use one on the other!

Just looked at the link, yes probably ebay shite. Always best off with standard stuff imo. You know what your getting, it will fit, and it will last a damn sight longer than some supposedly 'pattern' part.

I think a genuine one is about a tenner iirc.

I do believe that I've warned folks before about "pattern parts"

If thats the sort of rubbish speedo cable you can buy imagine what a pattern part wheel bearing is like or fork seals................... They are cheap for a reason................

without a doubt it will fit!

to think, youve spent close to 3 times as much as you wanted now, when it coulda been twice as much in the first place.
