you know i did think of KTM when this post started.
I like BMW's too, never ridden one and i dont know what they are like to own either, but cosmetically i think they are alright.

they cant be bad bikes, i mean think about "the long way round" and "the long way down" any machine that can take that kind of punishment deserves respect
i think we associate them being dull and boring cuz the older generation rides them, aswell as the majority of police forces using them

I think the only problem they had with those bikes was collapsed shocks on the long way down, but to be fair i think they were the same bikes they used going round and they were riding african terrain.

do you think the BM's they used on that were as you would buy them from the dealer or had they been worked on.. either way they must be comfy to go that far on them lol.

if thats all they done the bikes must be good quality to go through all that, some of the terrain you would struggle to cope with in a 4x4 i recon.

Would need a trailer full of chain wax to do that on any other bike.

I used to have a K75 bmw. I liked it. Not in the same way I liked my Fireblade or my ZXR 400 or any of my other bikes, but I liked it.

He has used them for round the world trips for about 4 or 5 years now.
