Race can or road can
A quick poll to see what people use, I had a race can for a while but because I dont get on with my neighbours I reverted back to a standard can to stop complaints but I intend to buy a road can next.

How about fitting a baffle to the race can? Get the looks of a race can without pissing off the neighbours.

Can you buy inserts then? I know all the new cans I have been looking at have removable baffles which I liked the look of, but my race can is an old blue flame jobbie before they bothered with removable baffles.

I didnt make alot of noise either, but we are one of just a few younger families surrounded by old retired people who seem to have nothing better to do than complain, its really pathetic to be honest if we have a barbecue they complain, if I leave my car on my own personal drive for a week unused they moan they just moan about everything so I like to make sure im on the right side of the law because then I can say sod em.

You can buy generic baffles which are basically a tube with holes in and splayed at one end. I managed to make a baffle for the MOT for mine.
Bit of tubing about 20mm, and thin ally plate. Cut the tube to about 6 inches, then drill a hole in the ally plate same size as the tube. If you dont have a drill big enough, file it. Then, cut the outside of the ally plate to fit the exhaust spout, make it ever so slightly too big and file the rest till its a snug fit. Then drill a hole for the bolt to secure it to the can, you may also need to drill the can spout aswell.
You can then either get them welded together, would need to be the same metal, or i used JB weld. Dunno if chemical metal is an option?
If your just gonna start it up in the morning to warm it up go for the JB weld, but if your using it permanently get it welded id say.
