That is a lovely looking bike. ZX7 best looking bike of all time
Whats it like to ride compared to the 400? I take it theres a bit more torque

Some say it is that yes, I think I might agree.86zxr01 wrote:That is a lovely looking bike. ZX7 best looking bike of all time![]()

I actually find it easier to handle than the 400 cos it fits me better. A little bit slower to steer but more stable with it. Certainly more torque, no need to really rev it at all to make decent progess. It's actually better than the old ZXR750 I had, I understand due to the engine being more oversquare ie wider bore and less stroke, so make more torque lower down. No more difficult than the 400 and in some ways actually easier.
I'm gonna put some pics up in the pics section shortly

considering its size and weight youd imagine its a pig to steer, but once its rolling the weight dissapears and it doesnt feel to differnt to the 400 really. Only when your getting nearer to a ton i found it harder to steer.

Dropping the yokes down the forks 10mm or so sorts that out. Or raising the back on the ride height adjuster, all depends how long yer legs are innitRedexRobB wrote:Only when your getting nearer to a ton i found it harder to steer.

Re: Should I sell my ZXR4
i fitted a jack up kit on mine, raised the rear by 25mm
dunno if it made an improvement as i hardly rode it before i fitted it
but it handles fine, slightly slow steering but easily correctly by hanging over more

What did that consist of, different length shock tie rods?Gemini wrote:i fitted a jack up kit on mine, raised the rear by 25mm

Wasn't there any thread left on the std shock ride height adjuster?

Re: Should I sell my ZXR4
dont think the rear adjuster has been messed with
basically the jack up kit consists of two shorter "dog bones" which simply replace the existing

Hmm ok. Why not just raise the rear on the std adjuster on the top of the shock?
