Pillion Clothing?

Post by Wabby »

Need to get my G/F some clothing for going pillions to racedays etc.

She is only an occasional pillion (Sunday Racedays, motorways, some A/B roads etc).

What sort of 'cheap' and 'good' clothing can I get for her?

Im thinking jacket, trousers, boots and gloves (Already have lid)

Also, anyway to make her comfier when I have my 1 peice race suit with hump on, on? She says it digs in her face. lol and its comfier for me than my 2 peice.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Depends what u class as cheap realy. My mum uses a Heine Gericke 2 piece suit, has armour in all the right places etc, looks like good quality kit, i think they £200, but definately no more than £300 tops. Dunno if it will help at all.

Dont see why you should compromise just cos she rides pillion occasionally, id say her equipment needs to be just as good as yours. Because if the unimaginable happens, you will only regret not giving her the best.

By cheap I meant not £500+ for a jacket, and the same for pants etc. lol

Decent gear I would expect to pay for, I was just seeing if anybody knew anywhere that sold 'GOOD' gear - 'CHEAP'.

I.E - Not J&S stuff, and not alpinestars FROM J&S.

Hope thats clarified that... lol

If you're lucky, get her down to a car boot sale, and you will almost certainly bag a bargain. winks

The problem is, being a woman, she probably won't like it unless it's perfect in colour and size. confuddled RST suits can be had for under £300 new and are pretty good.

Like Rob says, though - if you get her sub-standard kit and she comes off you're never going to forgive yourself, let alone what her Dad will do to you!

Yep, it needs to be the same protection for a pillion as you would want for yourself.
If you ride in jeans as we all do now and again, you need to expect its gonna hurt more if you crash.

There's a shop near me calles tizwaz and they have all sorts of "used" leathers. There may be a shop ear you that does that.

ORRR Find out her size, and have Look on Ebay.

I've found loads of ladies textile jackets for £40 ish and I even got a 1 piece akito leathers off ebay, worn maybe twice, for £25!!

Ladies stuff just rarely gets used it seems.

Personally, I'd tell her to get her own bike and ride it.
when I take pillions, I give them my best quality jacket and gloves. Even if it means I'm in something a little less protective. I'd feel like a right C%@t if my pillion came out of an accident worse off than me.

I'm the same, I ended up wearin my mates dads designer leather jacket so he could wear the proper one!

And as has been said, ebay is great for used gear. As long as it hasn't been down the road it will still have all its protective qualities, unless obviously stitching is shite, but on quality leathers this shouldn't happen. I've bought both my one pieces used, the current one is lovely and the first one saved my life!!

hmm yea i think the spend is justified... ill have a look for the name of the shop i went for my wolf leathers, got a 2 piece roo skin suit for cheap there, it began with a D. ill look it up tonight.
just search ebay for shops that sell and e-mial them with what your looking for and a budget... someone will get back to you with good deals i think....
