Jamz swears by expensive fuel personalyy i've used it twice i think, tbh yesterday i put some in and found the bike to run a lot smoother.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

Normal petrol used to get me 120 miles before reserve, optimax is 150+ (just commute riding, not blasting it). So yeah, I like it too

Ive been filling up with Optimax for a while, definately get better mileage out of it, quite expensive tho. Is it me or has petrol slowly crept up for no good reason?

Aye Rob, it has.

I have been following this thread and thought about giving it a whirl, the only thing that stopped me was the price (£1.06/l)

Alas, my Tesco fat giraffe home delivery arrived today along with a *drum roll please*
5p off every litre of petrol voucher.
FUK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Straight down the pumps, with my mate on his bike aswell, for 15 litres of your finest premium super warp speed rocket grade hi-octane double hard barstard fuel please pumpican.

After about 4miles, and the good stuff was being fed into the lump, i defo noticed a smoother ride and quicker response twist to vrooom. I would love to use this stuff for ever but once again the price will cripple me.
Question though, will this have an adverse effect on the lump? weakening of the head gasket etc etc

Peace and warp speed love to you all.

if anything in a smaller engine it should do it some good,
every once in a while i bang a tank of BP ultimate in coz it cleans the inside of the engine coz it burns a lot hotter, maybe just me but i recon u can notice the difrence in the cleaner engine, feels smoother for a while.

120 miles on normal to 150+miles on optimax or shell's stuff is a 25% increase (from my own experience)
Normal Petrol is 101.9 round here and super stuff is 107.9
There is deffo no way its more than 25% more expensive!!
No competition really
