clunky shift and jerkyness

well went to scotland and back this weekend and the bike seems to be very crutchy/ clunky shifting gears for some reason, and when off thottle and comign back on it it seems to jerk liek its taking up slack in the chaqin yet the chain is the correct tightness. any idead? my cush drive is fine. brand new chain and sprockets >< im baffled.

Is the chain well oiled? I find mines like that when when the chain is dry. Also might be a sign of carbs needing a balance.
