Troublesome indicators ><

Post by BikerJake2010 »

Just need a little advice about my blinkers..... basicly my front left indicators rubber has perished so bad that it keeps falling out of its place, and this is a pain in the gee-rass when doin 70mphish =) just wrippes out and starts flapping around like a bat out of hell, also creating a loverly "artistic" load of scratches on my front fairing :smt011 ..
So i brought some new aftermarket ones with some "indiespacers", think there made by motrax... anyway the big old chunky monkey indicators the zxr400 origionaly came with use some ancient thin and long bullet plugs unlike the "newer" stumpy fat ones.. so i cut all the ends of the front loom and the new indies and wrapped the cables nice and tight together and wrapped a bit of electrical tape to tempo sort it untill i go and buy a bog standard cable joiner clip thing from a DIY store.... left side indicators works fine! :smt003 but the right is another story :smt017 did the same as the left and it does nothing...."dashbord" light comes on and stays on and so does the rear right indicator but nothing at the front... now there is no possible way of a "missconection" cus the cables are pysicaly 100% touching eachother without any short circuiting so what could it be?????? Do i need a new relay unit?
Tryed speaking to the people at halfords but to be honest id have a better response from a flamin monkey, tryed MotoRapido "ducati shop" and there complete snobbery attitude was "u dont have a ducati so... bye bye..." there usual typical attitude made worse when pulling up on a "old zxr" (even tho i love it to bits :smt003 )
any sugestions would be realy apreciated..
Cheers.

same indicator relay so if the left work then its not the relay. If they worked before you did this then really it can only be something you've done. Take aprt the wires on the right hand side and get a multimeter out mate. Check you are getting power.
