Ok as i understand, i must turn the timing mark on the crank so that pistons# 1+ 4 are at TDC. Now install the cams (and chain) with the two marks on the camshafts poiting outwards.
The problem im trying to get my head around is; every 360 turn of the crank puts #1 and 4 at TDC, how do I know which '360' turn to install the camshafts with the marks pointing outwards?
Would the valves hit the piston if i were to install the camshafts with the marks pointing inwards towards each other.
Am i being an idiot?? haha

Are you being an idiot ?...............................YES
You do indeed need 1 and 4 at TDC and you use the marks on the ignition rotor to line them up.
If you get the T mark that is right beside the F mark on the rotor lined up with the rear line where the crankcases join then your there.
It all in the manual.....................................downloadable from here.

Re: Reinstalling CAM help!
haha thought so, yeah printed off the manual for both L and H.
So as long as 1 and 4 are TDC, rotor line T (with F) is aligned with the crank case (facing backwards) and the are camshaft lines facing outwards it should be right?
thanks
think im beginning to understand this 4 stroke business (2 stroke :wanker seems easy now), the cams turn at half the speed that the crank turns???

it can be a headfuck, but as long as all the marks line up its cool.
