I'd love to say it was... but that drawing is probably better than I could do... :smt009

The one with the intercoolers added is even better! :smt003

Yeah a supercharger can be fitted with an intercooler or a charge cooler.
And hasn’t the ghost rider's yellow 499 BHP busa got a dump valve

our chipped integrale 16v had a dump valve .. mmm ,,, i know its sad, but the noise it made just encouraged you to nail it through the gears at any given opportunity..

silly car ..

loved it.

I used to have a daily tussle with one on my morning commute!

First time I met the bugger I was doing 120 and he came absolutely flying past me! shocking

We made it a bit of a game after that to see who'd keep it nailed for the longest down that bit of dual carriageway!

Very quick cars - a great match for a ZXR400!

Eee, I miss him! :smt003

whether the original idea that jamz posted was a joke or a genuine (wrong) idea, it's certainly spawned some entertaining pseudo-science in response. :smt003

however I haven't got time to point out why in any detail. rover220 is right in almost all of what he's said though.
In the garage:
Kawasaki ZXR400 L3 - shiny
Suzuki DR800 - bouncy
1978 Suzuki GS400 - PROJECT RETRO RACER!
Kawasaki GPz500S - for sale soon
Honda CG125 BR-J - in bits

you can use either a intercooler or charge-cooler with a turbo too.

Just to be boring turbos need a dump valve, all the factory ones are re-circulting no noise and for the emissions, the dump valve stops excesive pressure in the inlet/turbo when the throttle is shut, as you can imagine things would soon go bang

another incorrect statement.

not ALL turbos NEED a dumpvalve. for instance, a nissan 200sx s13 comes without one as standard and that uses a garrett t25 turbo. they are many others too.

i ran without a dumpvalve for over a year on my t25 and later on my t28.

a dump valve wont make your car or bike go bang ainyway. they make the performance better and to have the turbo you need to make critical changes to certain things dont you? :smt004

OH that busa sounds awsome i would love to ride that for a day imagine how cool it would be burnin someone off then just to rub it in you hear the dump kick in smiler
