Evening all, thought I would finally say hello.
No zxr400 I'm afraid but I have quite a lot of one fitted to the front of my Kr-1s.
This site has proved very useful.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi, sorry for the tardy reply.
It does have some zxr parts-

400 L forks and yokes, bottom bush sleeved to fit a Kr-1s stem, gsxr calipers fitted with top hat spacers.
Probably a bit overkill for a 120kg bike, but I like it.

The zxr front end is a lot more stable and planted than the Kr setup, the problem is it did upset the handling.CaNsA wrote: How has it affected the handling?
A 20 year old Kr-1s comes as standard with tired soft forks at the front and a tired soft shock at the rear. This kind of works ok because it is balanced.
By fitting the zxr front I unbalanced it, suddenly the front was far better than the back.
So I did this-

You can't really see from the pic but that is a 17" rear wheel from an Rgv, a braced swingarm and a 2007 R6 shock.
Now both ends work and it feels balanced again.
I'm now looking forward to riding it again, none of these mods were staightforward and it has been off the road for about 9 months.
Cheers,
Mike
