Interesting thread, i wonder what your inspiration was :smt002

Mine was a Honda CLR125, 8000k on the clock, mint condition. £850
Felt huge, and awesome and mega fast :tease

Had it on the road for a month before some tit in a 4x4 reversed into it (while i was parked up in a parking bay), knocking it over, then carried on going up and over it.
Used to do 70/75 easy, by the time i sold it the max i could get from it was 55/60.
sold after 2yrs for £550.

My first bike on the road was a blue L1 ZXR400 (import) which was sold after approx 2 years (along with my SRAD 750 to fund a B1H. I believe Tyrant bought it (and turned it into a ZXR of the month winner :smt022 )

1988 TZR125-L full ypvs kit,(so thats err 24? bhp) red/white, bt39ss tyres, no brakes, awfull suspension and a very wobbly indicated 110mph ..

bit like this

Image

kept it for a year, sold it to my little brother who flipped it over a wall 20 minutes later (thereby never discovering the knackered main bearings and crank seals).

Hi,

Here's an actual photo of my chitty chitty bang bang when I first started riding.

Was a 2002 Hyosung Cruise II in metallic green, 4 stroke 4 valve oil cooled single cylinder with a top speed of 85mph!

Funny how there is a sad story with some of these first bikes.

My GT 250 went bang one evening when I was trying to impress some girls with a standing start wheel spining gravel flying effort on a gravel lane way.......................it went well for a few seconds then silence......siezed solid..........................

I didn't get the girl either and had to push the bike home

i know what you mean, my tuono seized three times in 16,000 miles, twice mullering the crank... and then the wife had it as her cbt/learner bike, she was moaning about the clutch, so i went up the street on it, at all of 15mph, come back down, and car pulls out yards in front of me, so i had to lob it down (theres an unnatural feeling!) right in front of her! she didn't want to go for a ride after that...

Ha ha , an AR50 , was my first , black and red , crashed damaged ,forks like lollipop sticks , wheels like fizzy frizbies ,brakes like a babys grasp on chocolate buttons ,but hey it was fun , once fixed and running i never had to touch it again . memories ha ha chopper ,had a tzr125 but in the blue and yellow after that , power valves you spent more time fixing than riding so had one as a second bike for yrs , ha ha , where have all the 2 strokers gone ? hrs and hrs getting the perfect mixture and timing , just for it to eat itself at 125 ha ha , covered in splinters of head and pistons , kr1 and the s were my first real new bikes ,then gpz600r ,gpz900r with the antidive (ewee) ,zzr600 ,cbr600 ,gsxr750 , list goes on , favorite ,kr1s ,was a youth working in a bike shop ,3 and half mile by-pass less than a mile away , miss those days ,snake pass and winking man my local roads back then

I was thinking about what counts as a "real bike".................and was going to say that learner legal bikes don't count as real............but my old GT250 was learner legal...............and was very much a real bike......................in it's day.

:smt017 :smt017

First non learner legal bike was a green Z 650....................it went bang too chucked a rod out the front................and it was 14 years before I bought another Kawasaki
