Re: Hey hey
shite mate wouldnt bother, go get an rvf!
nah seriously, very nice little bikes the zxr's
a good choice for 'first step on the ladder'
popular with taller riders as its so much bigger than other 400s.
theres loadsa info on this site and we are all very happy to help
welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay

Hi Day Release!
To be more specific, are there any known issues with these bikes. Someone recently told me the that "the top end of the ZXR4 engines were made chocolate!" I assume that this is cause he is the owner of another marque. Whats the real poop on these bikes?
Ta,
Sneaky

Re: Hey hey
they are renound for head gasket failure, so i would say watch out at around 20,000miles
top end can b noisy, check valve clearances and cam chain. occasional clutch rattle
all in all not at all bad to live with
i had a zxr, b4 that an rvf. and although the rvf had more torque, the zxr put a bigger grin on my face.
i got the kwakbug in a big way so upgraded to a zx7r
to summarise, if u want a bike that will make u look like a gp rider with little effort then go for an rvf/vfr, if u wanna put the effort in and get to know your bike and feel like a gp rider go for the zxr. they r right little screamers and need to b kept high in the rev range, but if u like ragging engines, you will love the zxr400

Re: Hey hey
ZXR's are the way forward. I fucking love mine, it does everything I ask it to do and more, I'm 6 foot and a few and i may look abit cramped on it, but I feel fine. Drag my knees everywhere. GET ONE!
