G'day from Brisbane

Post by sharky »

G'day all,
Just joined up...thought I should do the right thing by ya's winks.
I'm originally from the uk...down Brighton way..now living it up in the land of sun...and well.... more sun .
I'm a member of the ASF .... Aussie StreetFighters and ride an old skool 'fightered XJR1200.
My reason for joining up is that my wife has a 'fightered zzr600 that she just can't get on with....its just too heavy for her...she's 5' and 45 kilo's.
Rather than sell it, (way tooo many 'mods' to get a legit 'roadworthy test' ) I am thinking about dropping the motor into a zxr frame. She used to have (and loved ) a CBR400rr so I'm thinkin...keep all the fancy 'fighter bits...get a zxr400 frame.....sell off the heavy zzr running gear and bingo.....zxr4/600 'fighter.
Done the search thing...found a few threads but nothing concrete either way....
Look forward to pickin ya brains...if you can tolerate a Yam owner on here shocking

hi mate welcome to the forum, recently joined ASF too, i believe the zzr600 into the zxr4 frame is one of the easiest to fit.good choice of donor frame too.carry on and pick our brains.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

This was how I first got my Xjr project...I already owned an FJ1100 so that donated the motor...

This was the first rebuild...fairly restrained as it had to pass VIV inspection (repairable write off inspection)

It then became this....

Once in Brissy I got playful...

Watch this space....more to come..fatbob tanks,new tail & sidepanels, new paint,new exhaust...oh and a hot new motor :twisted.gif
