The wifes new ZXR 400

Post by blackhawke »

hi guys. just joined the forum as wev've just brought a cracking little zxr400 94' for my old girl to ride :smt002

i was a little obligated to buy her a bike as she let me trade in her er6 n and my zx7 r for a shiny brand new gsxr 1000 :smt056

Anyway spent 3 months looking for the right bike bit limited as the wife is a little vertically challenged. so we were really looking at monsters, SV's, Xj's and fazers looked at loads of bikes and its amazing how our interpretation of immaculate is compared to the sellers bikes we saw :smt090

saw this little ZXR forsale on ebay made an offer that was accepted £1200. both me n jen were both around when these bike were shiny n new and loved them then. Anyway turned up and the bike was sitting in the driveway and we both knew this was the one. 19000 miles but no service history. bought it home had a service and the mechanic was impressed as it was all in original condition bolts were all there and original etc. just looking for some crash mushrooms now (just in case) n we r ready to go

jens only been out on it once. she really lacks confidence on it, mainly turning. wasn't til we got home i realised she was trying to turn like she was on the er6 not a sports bike. gave her a few tips n well we'll see next time we go out.

I didn't know there was a difference to turning a standard and a sports bike?

your over the bars more on sports bike and the tank can get in the way. she was having problems with the throttle and balance a little as she turned the bars to close to the tank as shes pulling away

does look like the frames dented its just the picture.
