exams, Its over

Automotive engineering I've applied for, I've already written my letters to send off to companies for sponsership (triumph motorcycles have an extra long one) just waiting to get all my offers before sending them off.

Sounds good mate, unfortunately I dont know anyone doing one of them courses, would be go for you to talk to them and get a bit of feedback from someone about what you'll be learning. You might be lucky and get a student guide who's studying in that faculty to show you round and they would be good to ask questions. They do a formula student race car too, seen it zipping around the car park a few times and its bloody rapid! Sounds good too with a bike engine in it

the guys at brunel university are using a hondo CBR600 lump.. i went there on an open day as some numpty was fiddling with the camtiming and i ended up helping him refit the camchain.. went down well with the tutors.

Bet they werent too impressed with the student! I think they may be using a CBR600 lump in ours aswell, used to use a yamaha lump from an FZR.

Something tells me you get paid overtime ...wish I did.

I had considerably more than 10 hours a week at uni, yet it still felt as if I had loads more time than I do now.

nope - dont get pad overtime, I just like my job...... and..... 37.5 hrs is no where near long enough to get done what I need to, especially when working with people in the US.

A quick mental add up suggests I've done about 57 hours this week (and about the same the last two weeks as well. Which explains why I haven't been on here much lately

TBH, even as I posted that I suspected that would be your response (besides, what are the odds on an engineer getting paid overtime?). I enjoy my work that much some of the time, however the last couple of months has been doing silly hours because I'm on an under-resourced project and I have to. And that's not so much fun.

Should be improving. Had a report delivery on friday which just about got there, another one next week, then off to india to see the customer in a few weeks. After that it should be back to slightly more sensible amounts of work.
