hi, any idea why my L3 is a pig to get into neutral, very occasionally when im coming down the gears its as smooth as u like and pops into neutral no problem atall, but 99.9% of the time it doesnt go in and i have to switch the bike off with the kill switch then put it into neutral with the engine off but ignition on, would just be nice coming up to junction, traffic lights to let go of the clutch and chill for a bit rather then sitting there in 1st until the lights change! gearbox is fine otherwise!
Any help much appreciated, cheers!

Re: Getting into neutral is a nitemare!
could be that your clutch cable is adjusted wrong?
if when the bike is in 1st gear and clutch pulled in, you only need to release the clutch lever a little for the bike to start pulling forwards then its adjusted wrong.
find the two small adjustment nuts near to where the clutch cable goes into the clutch housing cover (
) and screw those so that you make the number of visible threads on the left hand side less, this will make the clutch more disengaged with the lever pulled in which should sort you out.
this will probably mean that you need to adjust your clutch cable adjuster next to the clutch lever on the handlebars as well.

Dont forget that the zxr wont (easily) go into neutral if your speed is above 5mph.
It's a safety thing to prevent false neutrals.

thats correct, the zxr has a system so that when at a standstil all you can go into is first and neutral, as cansa says, above 5mph you get all gears but not neutral...CaNsA wrote:Dont forget that the zxr wont (easily) go into neutral if your speed is above 5mph.
