My ZXR
Hi Guys picked up a zxr 400 l4 in october and thought i should start a thread to show everyone my bike and perhaps get some help as to next steps etc.
this is the pictures i got from when i was buying it
on the way home
home
in the garage with my mates vfr400
straight away i had to change the fork seals and re jet the carbs
then gave it a basic service by changing clutch gasket as that had torn to bits, changed the alternator gasket, changed both sprockets and chain, the four spark plugs, rear brake pads, clutch plates and new oil filter and oil.
i also didnt like the front screen to got a double bubble iridium purple one instead.
havent really done a lot to the bike over christmas but now want to get back into it.
just purchased the GSXR1000 k1 rear callipers, new battery and a HEL Braided rear brake lines and waiting for them to come.

Re: My ZXR
The timing wouldn't magically change while the bike is laid up for a few months.
Drain the carbs,
pull and clean/replace the spark plugs,
pull the plug from the bottom of the airbox breather pipe and let it drain then plug it up.
no choke, little throttle, starter button.
if no joy then try with a bit of choke.
only hold the starter for a max of 10secs, then wait 10 and so on.
