Hi,
if you rebuild an engine, how do you prime oil on a zxr?

Re: Oil Priming
When I installed my engine after a complete rebuild, I filled the oil cooler (on the floor) with fresh oil, connected the pipes to the crankcase and then lifted the cooler into position under the radiator (the idea being that the connections were the highest point and so oil would not be lost). I also filled the oil filter with fresh oil and screwed it on to the connection as quickly as possible. Both items were a little messy, but at least they were 90% full. I then removed the spark plugs and turned the engine over on the starter motor with the ignition switch on the handlebar in the OFF position. I used the starter in 10second bursts, with 20 seconds rest, as I was aware that the starter could overheat. But it remained reasonably cool, probably because there was no compression resistance. Once the red oil warning light went out I knew that the system was full. The spark plugs went in and the engine was started.
