daftlad is spot on, I had a gsxr250 with 17000rpm redline, but I'd never ridden an IL4 before the zxr and didn't realise how they pull, regret not riding that before I sold it now.

usually try to keep mine above 4000rpm

Indeed for best results 3rd gear at 9k then when you wana give it some grab a handful an feel the gforce its great,
but when riding in concerve mode ride in as higher gear as poss with low revs at the desired speed limit, not only do you get great milage but also it lowers the sound of the exhaust for when you might (only might) wana keep quiet outside houses at night, this also brings less attention from the police.
Remember speed kills, so does smoking, drinking, drugs, fast food and many more good things

Nice one thanks all

have mostly found ma bikes best after 6 tho, have only had up to 12 thou so farr ,

mostly alrightout on the open road,

just in towns always seem to find bike is either not pulling (to high a gear) or pulling fine but to sensitive and find myself tailing the car in front, itching to get past (probs to low a gear). Any suggestions??

Gonna try keep around 3rd today (in towns) n keep the revs up a bit more to see how it goes

i find the clutch on mine is a bit hard to slip instinctively, like i have to be putting some of my concentration on what I'm doing. Will probably get used to it given time

I had mine on the track the other day. Did about 5-6 x 20 minute sessions. I had my bike between 10,000 - 14,500 the entire time, without any problems. The temperature didn't even rise too much. :smt003
