Rob we've said it before there are lots of people on this forum who know stuff.
The point is we can share it and EVERYONE benefits.

But I do wish some of you guys lived a bit nearer............I could have a nice little business on the side. :smt002

I think I've only seen one other guy on here from Northern Ireland

Not by trade but nearly 30 years experience of working on them.
And about 14 years working on race bikes.

excellent, maybe you could tell me if i changed the plugs would it stop the engine goin off a cylinder below 4000 revs?

Tricky one that..........

Is it always the same cylinder?

Might be a problem with carb on that cylinder

was out tonight between showers and the carbs are floodin themselves, do you know anybody local who has the equipment to set the carbs properly? i'm takin it over to knock hill this year and i need it goin properly for that and the roads are startin with cookstown not too worried bout that one an i live half a mile from tandragee course, could walk to that then nw200 along with club ride outs. damn i hate it when they give trouble but on the up side i think i've cured the hot startin problem, not 100% sure yet but i think i have

Best man near you is Philip McCallen.

Flooding carbs could be the o ring behind the float valve seat.
What age is your bike
Or maybe the float height ned reset

she's '89 probably cost near the price of her to fix it with groover but i think it'll near be worth it just to have a reliable bike

Hi, purchased some shims on ebay but he wants to know wot size i need.......i have no idea...i know the 7.48 diameter but not the other size, ho wwud i knoe wot size i need??

You need to work them out mate. cant remember how tho. I think its reccomended spacing, minus the current spacing, then yo add that different to your current and that gives you the size you need.......

Ok, wots the recommended spacing and how can i measure that tiny little space?? Cant i just gamble on puttin the recommended ones in and c how it goes??
