Spark Plug Replacement

Post by MonkeyBusiness »

As I am planning on replacing my spark plugs within the next week or so, I was wondering how big a job this will be?

Keeping in mind that this will be my first time, how long do you think this process will take, and how complicated a job is it (for a ZXR Virgin)? :smt012

Anything I should watch out for, or make sure that I do / don't do?

easy as it gets mate. Remove:

hoover pipes
front tank cover
riders seat
petrol tank
airbox

and you should be presented with the top of the engine. Remove the HT leads noting where they go before you remove them. Then hey presto you should be able to get to the spark plugs. Make sure you have a thin walled socket as the hole to the plugs narrows the further down it goes and a standard socket piece will get stuck.

For more details on removing the tank etc
