Bleeding brakes

hi guys, have any of you stripped the calipers down and once putting them back together they will not bleed up and my brake lever is coming back to the bars, so do any of you lot no were the air maybe setting up camp and not budging.

Just keep on pumping the lever and keep the master cylinder topped up eventually the fliud will get down to the caliper and the air will be squeezed out the bleed nipple. Assuming you have already tried this ?

i have already done this and probarly completely removed all the old fluid with new but the lever is still shite is there anything in the caliper that could have been put in wrong that will cause this.

Shouldn't be, if it was fine before?

Have you tried tying the lever back to the bar and leaving it overnight, with the top off the master cylinder?

This can work wonders - sounds like it could need something more with yours though...

You are closing the bleed nipple before you release the lever right?

Personally i use a vacuum pump to pull the fluid through, just keep the reservoir topped up and youll get no air whatsoever.

bleed off the master cylinder m8.

Stick some tissue under the banjo bolt, fill up the reservoir and then do the same as you would for the calipers. Pull in lever, undo master cylinder banjo and then retighten and release lever.

then start to do your fluid change for the calipers, it makes life a lot easier and quicker than leaving the top off the cylinder overnight.

And you dont want to be leaving the top off in the weather we having lately, far too much moisture.

i've had problems bleeding brakes before, if you get a big syringe with a ruber tube on then you can physical suck the fluid down the line trust me its really bloody good and they only cost about Â£5 well worth!

hi there , about bleeding your brakes i know its a week or 2 late , but if you un-bolt the calipers and hold them higher than the master cylinder , the air rises easier , than forcing it downwards , need a mate to help you tho ,
