Getting parts in Japan

Just had my first experience ordering Kawasaki parts in Japan.

Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki all do next-day delivery on almost all parts, whereas Kwak thought it'd be cool to do next-week delivery instead

You gotta love the KWAK

Ah well. They gave me a new speedo cable and fairing clip for free, so I can't moan too much. And not bad considering I have a second-hand '95 model.

Don't know how easy things are back in the UK...

Usually a couple of days at worst for parts for me. Thought they would be there next day like the rest?? Unless the part you need isnt made in Japan?

you should have ordered them from cradley they do next day delivery, in the uk anyway.

Kawasaki have a pretty rotten rep over here for some reason and the smallest network of dealers.

Think I might try the Cradley to Hiroshima route next time

Is there a "Red Baron" near you?

That's who I use and 9/10 times 2 days max if i get the order in before mi-day.

I now get a discount from them as my orders are frequent! Longest I have waited on anything was a Suzuki fuel tap from an old GS and that was nearly 2 months as there was no factory stock - was certainly bright shiny new when I got it.

Red Baron also do a great deal on buying Motul oil, You pay for 45L and get it half price - then it's just a case of popping in and getting your oil done when you like, no booking in just show up and give them the keys 900 Yen for changing and 1,575 with filter.

If you get your tyres from them they will fill with N2 and again anytime you want your pressure checked pop in and it's done FOC.

The shop beside me is the best franchised shop I have seen anywhere, I've sat and watched the mechanics working on bikes many times and no corners are cut - in fact they do a lot of small stuff that goes un noticed but makes a huge difference. I have no worries when they are working on my bike.

I set up my bike after fitting new carbs on and took it in to have them do it and they couldn't improve over what I had done already. So after 90mins (with a Dyno run) work they didn't charge me

I would hope all there branches are run on the same principle.

Yeah there are a couple near me. I'd been into both nosing around about buying a ZXR but their prices were way out of my league (500k +) . I didn't much like the fact that I would have to shell out 8k delivery just to have a bike I was interested in bought down to Hiroshima. I ended up buying my current ZXR from a local dealer for 200k and have been using him for servicing since. He's free for the odd thing, especially small parts, but slooooow ordering parts, so I may well check out Red Baron. I also like the sound of the oil and tyre pressure. They'd both be dead useful for me. Like you said, I hope they all run on the same prinicple!

can you still buy ZXR's brand new in japan?

Didn't find any un-used ones but the lowest milage was 193 miles (308Km) at 3,785GBP 1993 in Blue , Red & White.

Cheapest was 1,063 GBP 1990 classic Green, White & Blue Racing colour with 8,900 miles

Oh my god I wish I hadn't found it, It's an H model and is in very good condition - If you want some photos of it let me know and I will mail them onto you

There is also a totally Blinged one that even has an LCD TV with IPod player hooked in 1,355GBP an L model.
