Yer your right and you can have soooooo much more fun on two wheels (well one most of the time) :smt077 I sold my Integra type-r and bought a lovely 1990 civic for the missus and then a bike for me and even when its raining I still think that was the best think to do.

Also how long have you had your licence? I'm up to my eyeballs in speeding fines and even driving (a car) without a licence (oops), but because I have had my licence for 5 years (since I was 17) I only pay £600 FC (without no claims) with European cover and unlimited mileage. Thats with Express Insurance and its only £200 more for a 636.

thats still quite expensive! i've been rideing 3 years (owned my licence for 2 years) and 3NCB

im 19 and pay 500 a year now with a ZXR750, Honda CRM250 and a Maico GMstar 250 all on that policy

all TPFT in a medium to high risk area, so im quite happy with that!

hypatheticly Iv had my bike licence for a year then. but iv actually got 5 years no claims on my car licence(by then will be 6), i dont know why that aint took into account cos i have road experience i think that counts for somethin bein able to read the road. the quote was based on a kwak ZX6RR 05 reg. at £3500. with 2000 miles per yr. no points never had a driving offence. so i think 1500 is way over the top.

Yer mines really expensive because I have,

SP30 - £200 fine - 14 day ban (I was clocked at 134.2mph on a ZX10)
SP30* - £60 - no points
LC10* - £0 - no points
IN10* - £180 - 6 points

The ones marked with a * were all together when I got pulled for speeding in a car, unfortunately I don't have a licence to drive cars (LC10 driving without a licence), I argued that it was impossible for me to have insurance to drive the car (IN10 driving without insurance) because no one would insure me without a licence, the police officer was not impressed.

I feel I should explain that I am not normally irresponsible enough to drive without a licence and insurance, it was just that my girlfriend at the time had just nearly fallen asleep at the wheel so I decided it would be safer if I drove, and I can drive cars I have been racing them since I was 14, and I did pass my test once, I just forgot to send my certificate away with in the 2 year time limit :smt086 so it expired.

But as you can see my licence is dirtier than a homeless hooker so I pay through the nose for insurance. :smt012

I do not expect sympathy, I was a fool and I deserved everything I got.

What you say is true cars cost so much to run, the only time I could afford it was when I actually had a licence and worked in parts dept in a Peugeot main dealer. That was when I had my Integra and even though it wasn't a Honda I could get cheap parts and all the labour was paid for in pints.

Thats what I love about bikes is you don't need rams ect to work on them. I mean I am very confident working on cars and bikes but I don't have anywhere I can get a car up in the air.

i hate with a passion trying to work on cars, trying to drop gearbox's ect in near on impossible without a ramp

Bikes are 10x better can get around them in instantly and everything's more basic!

Thats cos cars are much more complex in there engineering. i think i now like bikes more an wana learn about the mechanics i think,

I wouldnt say you deserved what you got mucka, you dont strike me as a serial no licence driver they are the ones i have no time for i get em by me drivin old nail cars an instead of car tax they have a beer mat in the windscreen.

ermmm yea it just sort of headed into insurance an then back out again!!! :smt017

Yer you're right I've not done it before or since and I am probably a better driver than most people with a licence, judging by what I see on the roads most days!

The problem wit the whole changing subject is I have a very short attention span, I blame it on the brain damage from my accident in 2002. :smt021
