Ditto.

Nothing worse than smoke filled pups and clubs.

Or restaurants that seem think fine food goes well with fags.

Im looking forward to being able to walk through a door way and not be greeted with a cloud of fag smoke in shopping centres. Its been a long time coming tho and its slowly making its way through the continent also.

I smoke but i dont mind not being allowed to smoke in pubs and clubs, what i resent is i'm now not allowed to smoke in my own business workplace, which i own and nor am i allowed to let anyone else smoke there.

This is stupid.

I see your point Xphy, the same as if people wanna smoke in thier own homes, thats fine. I think its basically in place to consider people who dont smoke, and im sure there are people at your work who dont.

bit that i thought was stuiped is your not alowed to smoke in your company car AND you have to have a no smoking sighn displaid in it. That is stuiped!

so if you have company car and its your main car your never alowed to smoke in it including when your not working

The thing that worries me is when we do gigs, its hard enough to promote yourself and fill the place in the first place so during the bands changeover people are likely to go for a fag break outside.. who says they will come back in if that band before you sucked!!!! :smt033

when i went to ireland it was great not having smoke filled pubs but they did STINK of b.o!!! no dry throat the next day though. Most people there said it was great but, if your out in a group, when half the party left for a fag the atmosphere dropped, and theres always that awkward 'were they talking about me silence' when people come back in!!! a good friend of mine has terrible asthma too and she cant go into smokey places so it'll be nice on the first when she can join us for a babysham or whatever she drinks!!

I guess i am not fussed either way but i can see both points of view. The day they make john smiths drinkers stand out in the rain there will be killings though!! :smt070

Ah its a load of tod but im an ex smoker now so it dont matter to me however i would like to say you cant get lung cancer from passive BO althoe it is desgusting.
i think its the right thing to do. if we make smoking more socialy unacceptable then more people will want to quit.
xphyral______ my workplace stopped the fags last week i thought it was pubs an clubs for july 1st, anyway, if your the only employee whos gona know if your fagin it you should be ok.

apparently, if your an old man or lady that smokes and has a carer, you have to have not had a ciggarete no less than 2 hours before your carer comes. Otherwise they have the right not to do thier job untill the house is clear!

Im with stinking of smoke after a night out, its in your skin and hair which i hate the most! And you can smell it on you even the next day.

Well if someone says to you: there's a sick man in there and he needs your help, its your job, you gonna help?

And of course you get your medikit and head off to help ..

Only it turns out the man is sitting in a room full of asbestos dust.

When you ask why he sits in there and not outside where its less dangerous, he yells through the doorway: 'because I like it!'

At which point the guy who came running over to tell you the guy in the room needs help says something along the lines of: Its ok, you will probably only get cancer in 20 years or so ..

What would you do?

What would you do if you were, say, a district nurse who had to visit 50 such guys and gals a day?

Tell em to f*** off thats what.

well as a smoker i can see both points of view.

I to dont like walking into a pub that is bound with a thick layer of smoke in the air. Makes your throat dry and you eyes sting like mad if there's too much.

on the other hand, its also a piss take to say you cant smoke in work vans and the like. i used to be a long distance delivery driver, which i was on my own etc so saying you cant smoke in there is a bit rediculous.

I also think that if they make pubs non smoking because of the non smokers, then why cant ( if the pub owner wants it ) a totally smoke pub. SO if you dont smoke, you cant come in. Only seems fair really. That might piss the non smokers off but the non smokers have it best with this new best and personnaly think its discrimating aganst the people that do smoke.

If you dont smoke , go to pubs and clubs that wont allow it, if you do, there should be smokers pubs and clubs. There's a hell of a lot of people that only smoke socially. ALso i like having a fag with a pint.

If you own your own business like that has been said, it should be down to the owner of the said bussiness weather you can smoke in there or not. I want to own my own polishing business some day and no one will stop me smoking in my own place.

And yes, im setting myself up for a grilling here lol
