Hello, American in Germany

Post by markkaren96 »

Hello, my Name is Mark, I'm a 36 year old, stationed in Germany so if you guy ever head to Nurenburgring let me know, its a short trip for me.

I've been riding for three years now, started on a Suzuki GS 500 but wanted something i could take to the track. So last Fall I bought my 95 ZXR 400. It was my winter project, I stripped down to pieces/parts (excluding engine), When I took the bike apart it was obvious a past owner had dropped it and used what ever was available to put it together again different size/type of bolts and screws, along with not doing a good job of straightening brackets, Rad/ oil cooler were resting on header pipes. I polished the frame and swing-arm, fixed electrical that was poorly done in the past, and put it back together use better hardware. Had wheels stripped and repainted, and fitted race plastic to it.

Have been riding it all summer now and found that the ZXR is a great little bike. it may not be as fast at other liter bikes, but D@%& it fun and can keep up with the big guns in the twistys.

personally, I thought she'd been to the Nürburgring :smt002 , but hey.

that's a nice paint scheme on your road fairings mark. telefonica on a kwak is a bit unusual but works well too.

welcome to the forum.

I know I should really read what I type and make sure my spelling is correct :smt017 , hopfully next time i'll get it right.

Caz: I'm just outside of Trier.

Telefonica is odd for a Kawasaki! but I wanted some thing that went with the blue and I liked The neon yellow of the Movistar/Telonica so that is what I went with, Odd just like me!
