ithink the car test is ok, fairly tough passed mine with just 4 lessons but i had driven before. i do think they should have power restrictions on cars like they do with bikes cos a car is like a loaded gun so some kid in a 200 odd break hp car could cause some damage.... the bike test is way to easy thoe i think. plus the fact you cn do a CBT @ 16 an then ride a moped on a busy road with no assistance i think afew years ago that might have been ok but the roads are much busyer now i think that should be up for review too. but with busyer roads comes more danger not so much in traffic, i mean the odds of someone pulling out of some quiet road your used to burnin past becomes greater etc

but in america the roads are different plus things are so far appart you could do with a motor to get there i guess... i know about the ped but you have to admit the roads arent the same now are they. i dont know ay its a techy subject that one.

it was only 3 years ago!

been over to the USA a few times, try driving down a 5 lane motorway with no undertaking rules (people over taking on both sides) belive me its not as spaced out and see 1 car every 3 days as people think in the citys its just as bad as here

Personaly i think people are getting abit gay about safety.

I believe in certain provinces of Canada you can drive at 12!

edit: I've just checked and I wasn't quite right. In Alberta, a 14 year old can get a provisional 'ped or car licence. They can't take the test till 16. However while they need to be accompanied in a car they can obviously ride a 'ped unsupervised.
