Back protectors

Post by ~JB~ »

Right, I've been looking around at back protectors, resckon they're a pretty good idea. But there are so many and most of them are pretty expensive... has any one got any advice/reccomendations?

Ive got a knox contour. i likes it, very comfy and fits(just) inside race fit leathers. They go right down over the base of yr spine too and good range of adjustment. They are expensive, 100 squid new, i bought mine second hand for 50 quid as new and i think they are worth it.
BUT, i havent crashed on it yet...so im hoping they work aswell as it looks

cheers, does it also help support your back while you're riding?

dunno really, ive only used it on track, so im crouched in as much as i can to really notice. But i doubt it, its not that stiff really, it kinda flexes with yr back.

I've got a knox - one of the older ones. very good as it goes to the base of the spine and incorporates kidney protection too. guess it does support the back a bit - usually use mine on teh ring so im moving around too much to notice
worth buying one tho - i always have a back protector of some sorts when im out riding, you cant put a price on your back
