That depends really.

Do you want a bigger bike because you want to ride faster?

Or do you want a bigger bike because it will be more comfortable/better for long distance/better able to carry luggage or pillion/etc than the ZXR?

difficult one to answer without knowing
a) why you want to upgrade
b) what sort of riding you want to do
c) budget

One of the main reasons I changed bikes was because teh ZXR simply didnt suit the type of riding i wanted to do.

I'm not particularly short @ 5'7", but I do have veeery short legs and I manage my gixer just fine.

I suspect neither lindaloo or Caz are trying to compensate for anything in that sense...

i think that a newer GSXR or R6 they both have short seat heights i think you might manage. but whats your budget, however if you do get one of them you wont ride the ZXR much if at all after... TEST RIDE time :smt003

A zxr4 is my first and current bike, but I was hoping to do a tour of Scotland next summer with my bro and was hoping to get a CBR 600F. It's bigger, you sit more upright and its more comfortable for touring long distances.

Sadly I'm gonna have to sell my kwak to fund the new one.

i dunno,... thinking of a more grunty bike...not necessarily want to be like a speeding bullet...
budget wise.. will be around the 1500-2000 mark, ive ridden a cbr600 before...height wise wasnt too bad, weight thing is more of an issue to be honest, really need to be able to touch tarmac without too much stretching lol wasnt sure whether to stick to sporty bike or go for a more tourer feel... i could spend more if i wanted to sell the zx,..but thats goin nowhere :smt003

As a bit of a left-field suggestion, how about a Duke 750SS?

Doesn't make much more power than the ZXR, but has about double the torque. Fair few on Bike Trader within £2k.

I haven't actually ridden one, so I don't know what the weight, seat height, etc is like. Think there's a couple of people on here who have had them in the past.

if you're after torque, then you dont want an inline 4.
have you considered the SV650s? similar power to the ZXR, considerably more torque, more upright riding position and has suzuki reliability!
I did the national rally on a 1997 ZX-6R with absolutely no problems. The bars are above the yokes so the riding position is more upright -

Im able to get both feet flat on the ground with both of those bikes and I didnt find the weight an issue.

yeah i had considered sv650's, i know a bloke wi one, hes only small too, didnt get to sit on it tho :smt012
i had been looking at triumphs too, but most of em seem far too big, my bloke has sprint st and thats amazing power and torque wise.

dont forget, you can always get a lowering link if you find the bike a little too high. I know a girl who is about your height and has an SV. She's had a lowering link put in and can now sit with both feet flat on the floor and a slight bend in her knees IIRC.
When I sat on it, I had a definite bend in my knees with both feet flat on the floor.

I'd personally go down the SV route because a) its japanese, b) it's meant for that sort of riding and c) it is completely different from the ZXR and d) i think you can get a reasonably good one for your budget; there are tonnes of them and they werent expensive bikes to start with!
