Motorcyclist dies after collision
A motorcyclist has died in a collision involving two other vehicles on a road in Suffolk.
The accident happened at about 1400 GMT on Saturday on the A1120 at Badingham, near Framlingham, at its junction with Pound Green Lane.

A Kawasaki XR400 was involved in a collision with a Honda CRV and a Nissan X-Trail car.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Kawasaki died as a result of his injuries, said police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Police.


Hope it's none of our lot, but I suspect that bike should have said 'ZXR400'...

more than likely a zxr400 as Honda do the xr400.fingers crosssed its no-one off here. rip all the same.

I heard about this on another forum, apparently it was a zx400. No doubt accident rates will be up alot this year as everyone is getting out earlier due to the warmer weather coming sooner.

HEARTFELT tributes were today paid to a popular 20-year-old man killed in a horror smash on a Suffolk road.

Mechanic Angus Lewis died when his motorbike was involved in a three-vehicle crash on the A1120 High Road at Badingham, near Framlingham on Saturday.

Mr Lewis, from The Street, Shotley, was riding a Kawasaki ZXR 400 which collided with a Honda CRV car and a Nissan X-Trail car at around 2pm.

He died soon after as a result of the injuries he sustained.



Today, devastated pals remembered the former Holbrook High School pupil as a “great mate” and a “top friend”.

Joe Chittock, of Holbrook, said Mr Lewis would never be forgotten.

“I've known him since I was about five, but we have been particularly good friends in the last couple of years,” he said.

“Anyone who met him, even if it was only briefly, would know he had a presence that stuck in your head.

“Whether it was his green bike leathers, his huge grin or his cocky comments, Angus made an impression on everyone.

“He had a good sense of humour - he was always genuinely happy and jokey. You never saw a sad side to Angus.”

Mr Lewis, who worked at the John Grose garage in Ipswich, leaves older brother Edmund, mum Mandy and dad Douglas.

The tragedy comes soon after the death of 34-year-old Russell Covey, who was killed on Thursday night when his car left the B1077 near the entrance to the Fynn Valley Golf Club.

Police today revealed that the latest road death means nearly one motorist a week has been killed in the county since the start of the year.

In a tragic twist, Mr Chittock said Mr Lewis would rarely ride his motorbike in winter - but had decided to on Saturday because of the unusually warm weather.

“Angus started biking about a year ago and I know he always used it a lot over the summer,” he said.

“Whenever it was dry and the weather was good, he would spend the whole afternoon out on the roads, just to make the most of it.”

A number of Mr Lewis' friends have visited the scene of the accident to lay floral tributes and pay their respects.

Mr Chittock, 20, said: “His friends are in shock and there is a feeling of great sadness. It's a big loss to everyone.

“A big group of us used to go out on a Monday night and we are planning to get everyone together in memory of Angus. We will go to one or two his favourite bars and talk about the good times.”

Officers have launched an appeal for witnesses in relation to Saturday's crash. Anyone with information should call Pc Steve Fisher of Halesworth road policing unit on 01473 613500.

A STRING of moving tributes have been left in memory of Angus Lewis on a social networking website.

A special page on the Facebook site was created where friends could leave messages of condolence.

Dozens of messages were posted within hours of it being set up.

“You always knew how to make us laugh.”

Heather Long wrote: “I'm so sad to hear of this.

“I feel so badly for the family. Angus was a one off.”

Sam Knibbs wrote: “Stay sweet Angus. This world will be a sadder place with out you.

“My thoughts are with your family.”

Amy Letman wrote: “Angus, you are sorely missed. All my love and best wishes for ever and ever.”

Shaun O'leary wrote: “Angus you were always a laugh but you were more then that - you were a mate.

“I will never forget our nights out. You have been cruelly taken away from us but I am sure you are raving it up there in heaven.”

Sam Barker wrote: “I can't believe it. I've known you since playgroup.”
