As some of you may remember I got my zxr400 in November last year. As the weather has been crap just been pootling about in 'surival mode' if you will.
Being better weather weekend took it on some corners, had more confidence with the grip.
Thought I would take it on the motorway, for those around here it's Telford M54 J5. Both slip roads have been resurfaced. It's a big sweeping left hand bend (going towards Wolverhampton). Thought hmm think it will lean over further, then felt my foot scraping along the floor. Got job I wasn't wearing trainers, not that I ever would do. I do have half my foot off the peg so if it wasn't in the way could have got further over. Just amazed at how composed it felt!
Starting to see the handling charatcristics of this bike a bit more now. Also on the motorway seemed happy to sit at 80, and pulled ok and motorway speeds. My little zzr250 struggled above 70 really.

Ive been scraping the pegs all day today trying to get my KD. I just cant seem to get the position right atm. The bike is absoluteley solid in a corner, even went i went into a near tankslapper wen i caught my toe.

Re: What Handling!
it's great feeling how much grip you have
i just wasnt a fan of trying to change direction at higher speeds on an S bend with the stock bike, was very slow to pull back up. A slight drop through the front forks and some metzelers sorted that out though. More than it's agility, which comes of being a lighter weight bike the solid front end on em is great for building your confidence.
remember to sit right back from the tank scott, a good 2 inchs or so and bring a whole butt cheek off the side without twisting your waist. feels like your just gonna fall straight over but you'll get used to it.

Your racing numer needs to be 69! then you'd be even cooler!

Cargo, is it true you have that number so that even if you fall off or do a loop the loop, the number is still the right way up?

Re: What Handling!
I tried once to get 69 but was beaten to it so I went for 96 that was 8 maybe 9 years ago I got to like it
Then by coincidence I realised that it was of real sentimental signifance to me and I've used it every since so much so that I don't even have to ask for it now.
The trick is to shift your bottom over a little.
Try and find a nice constant radius corner to practise on
The first time I ever did it was at the corner in the picture and it was wet ......very wet !
BTW the seat height on my race bike is just the same as a standard ZXR I even use the standard seat and rear sets are a little higher than standard

Re: What Handling!
that's a top tip - if you try to hang off without pushing back in the seat, then unless you have a very flexible groin areaXphyral wrote:
