Zxr Rectifier 6 pin connector

Post by Bilko1000 »

Hi, I have been having problems with my bike not sparking, dying and choking plugs which I have finally traced to a
damaged rectifier. Id stripped and balanced the carbs twice before I realised it wasnt my mixture over rich it was a weak spark. Eventually
the plugs would coke, the battery discharge and the bike dump you on the side of the road.

Anyway the earth connection on the 6 pin connector block to the rectifier is burnt out and I cannot find a replacement connector anywhere.

Is there a way to remove the female spade connector from the 6 pin connector block. Should I drill it out? I need to replace the connector
with a new spade connection for when the replacement rectifier arrives.

Please help!

Hi there, you should be able to release the spade clips by sliding a thin piece of metal down between the spade and the connector block. However, i dont believe you can get the connector block seperately from the loom, so something you may want to consider.

This seems to have come up a few times recently with the connector block to the rec/reg burnt.....
