Caberg V2R - opinions?

I'm thinking about this, looks nice, and the double vision doo-dah dropdown tinted visor looks absolutely awesome, and I can see it being very useful.
So, anyone got any thoughts/feelings/opinions/other reccomendations?

Had a caberg (or as baz once said, a cabage), i didnt like it as much as i thought i would after a while. eventually went and got a Roof Daytona. But whatever you do try it on before you buy!!

I dont have a caberg, but I do have the Schuberth R1 and my other half has the Schuberth S1 both of which have the slot down visor. it is very useful

My R1 is absolutely fantastic - it is incredibly quiet and the fit is great. The only differnce between the R1 and the S1 is the fact tht the R1 is designed more for sports bikes and gives slightly better visibility whilst tucked in on sports bikes. That said,t the other half doesnt have any problems with visibility when he is riding my gixer. I think that they also fit slightly different head shapes.

if youre looking at one of these type lids - check the Schuberths too.

Remember - the most important thing is that the lid fits you well. Having had a nasty head injury - I can vouch for how important it is to have a good fitting lid!

iirc, the circumference of my head is 34", I think that makes it either a Medium or a Small, so that's a point to consider, too.

no such thing as medium or small...

varies so much from one manufacturer to another you really need to try em on for size so to speak.

I'm an XS for some lids, my Schuberth is an S. Arais dont fit me etc etc. You need to try em on,

iv got a caberg trip and so has my mate, i really rate them. flip up is great for talking or going in to pay for petrol, and the tinted flip down visor is a god send, great when coming over hills and blinded by the lights. The double visor really does prevent misting, i could never go back to my old helmet now lol. I think they are great helmets at a very good price

Thanks for the input, ladies and gents, I correct my head measurement after realising how huge that is, firstly, it's 22" odd or 57cms odd.
The price is a little bit of an issue, I don't mind paying for something that's going to be much, much more comfortable though, so as you say, I'll be trying them on when I go in for one.

mrs.deviant has a V2. they seem like good lids. I was going to get one but my head's the wrong shape - so I ended up with a nitro n1210 and the hassle of swapping visors.

HJC have also started doing lids with integral dark visors, including the carbon ones. unfortunately (and despite my last two lids being HJC) they didn't fit me either.

obviously the advice is go and try one on.

Aye, I shall most certainly be trying them on beforehand, and trying the V2R, especially if I like it, and can pick one up for the £120 odd I have seen them going for on Ebay...
Though I am now also liking the looks of the 'Trip'. I will report back on whatever I go for, anyroad.

I have a Caberg v2 and ive gotta say its the best lid i have owned so far,...absolutely brill for low sun, car lights etc

i had a caberg it was a fairly good helmet. say if your commuting alot its handy but if your often out on tazy blasts with your mates go for a complete lid an get a tinted visor. also its worth noting that after a wile they can feel abit flimsy. but for commuting purposes they do a good job.

Yeah, I got a Cabbage V2 for winter, it was really good having the dark inside visor for those low sunrises and sunsets. Flimsy feeling compared to Shark RSR but it did the job for £80ish. Nice and light and matt black.

Great for commuting. Wouldn't trust it for a proper blast through the countryside though.
