FLIES!!!

Post by Jamz »

FLIES!!!

First decent run to The Waterman last night, and my God can't you tell it's Officially Summer???

After a run at silly speeds just as it was twilight, my visor looked like I'd ridden through a damn tropical rain forest!

There's more disembodied legs sticking up from my visor than you'd find in Heather Mills' closet!

Image

I don't think I've EVER done a 15-20 mile run before with that kind of fly slaughterage!

I feel like Ghengis feckin' Khan!

So, are we in for the worst ever year of the little buzzy-splattery buggers?

Now KFC wipes are crap, what do you use to clean your visor?

I've just been spraying mine with the whiteboard cleaner at work - which is great, but I think the way some of these are embedded it's a wonder they weren't licking my eyeballs!

I must of murdered a bee last night as i have a 3 inch circle of fly intestines on the shoulder of my leathers. As for my visor, god knows how i saw through it.

As for getting them off, get a hot tub of warm soapy water, let it soak in there for 30 mins and then just whipe it off.

I KNOW that's probably the best and safest option, but I'm also a lazy fkr and there's no way I'm waiting 30 mins! :smt003

Auto-Glym bike wash also seems pretty good at getting it off visors...

I spent most of last night just missing all you buggers...

You were just leaving the Rose & Crown when I got there...

foke cleaning visors! normaly leave the dead flies on untill its impossible to see out of anymore...

When i do come to clean it use fairy liquid. Once clean dry it off and rub a small about of fairy liquid onto the inside, best anti mist stuff you can buy!

Flash (or Cif or whatever it is) Oxy spray works well. Squirt it on the visor then put some kitchen roll on there and leave it a few seconds to soak up the bodies. Then just wipe em off and rinse with water. Fairy works almost as well, and works as a demister too.

I hate the monkeys. You can't have the visor open above 20mph else you get 100's of tiny cadavers in your face. And trying to pick out little limbs from your eyes with gloves on, as well as concentrate on the road, is pretty Krypton Factor.

So am I mate. Once I was riding to my mates work to see him as I was off and I swear down, the BIGGEST bug hit my visor on my right side and left a huge splatter mark on it. I actually had to stop 3 mins later and wipe what i could of, using spit and my tee-shirt underneath my leathers. Not the best way but it had to do until I got to the garage where my mate works.
