hello

Post by chris675 »

Just wanted to say hello. i have been looking for a zxr 400 for months now (it had to be very cheap!!!!) to use as track bike maybe with a daylight MOT. So i picked mine up on saturday at short notice, at the moment i think it is an L1 but that will be confirmed when i get a day off work. Cheers Chris. grtin

i will get the pictures as soon as i can figure it out. nobody get your hopes up it has to be the scuffiest one i have seen! it is also a none starter at the moment. first registered 1991 bought from a guy in grimsby. i have a friend in the RAF who is going to help with some of the jobs that need specialist equipment e.g welding and spraying, at the moment he has my battery in the battery bay on his camp (where would we be without the armed forces??!!!!) so should have that back tomorrow ?!! apparently it last ran 6 months ago but looking at the wiring loom (it has been chopped about) i am not going to hold my breath.

yes the rest is in the garage.the previous owner had very kindly lost most of the bolts, but it is ok because he supplied me with a few knackered spares!!! anyone want a rusty water pump, corroded head or some other random bits??? got a question for you. how do make the pics show rather than the link?

when you post click the IMG box above the white box you type in and paste the link to the pic in between the IMG tags ie [img]yourpiclinkgoeshere[/img]

that looks good to me mate. nice. Check that can hanger, ive got one with my micron system that looks the same, and i swear to god i needed a hand to take it off it was that heavy! you can ditch it, use a micron sized strap and a standard zxr hanger cut down if needed.
also, whip the can off and have a look if the link pipe has its baffle still in.
Its been set up for ram air tho, has the rad been dropped to fit the air box scoop?
how much did it cost you, if ya dont mind me askin?

it cost £500 off ebay, bit of a bargain in my opinion. some one pulled out of the sale so got offered it at a reduced price. i will have a look at the exhaust as you say when i get chance (unfortunately work and family is getting in the way of my fun at the moment) i cant say about the rad although it might have been as the coils have been moved too. after making up a wish list for it then adding up the cost (it came to the scary side of 2 grand)i have been bullying my RAF friend into getting me free reign of their workshop and materials (if it is good enough for a jet then it might be good enough for me!) to see if i can save a few pennies.
